The Kansas City MLB Urban Youth Academy is a nonprofit organization with the mission to empower Kansas’s City’s youth through baseball, softball, academic and social opportunities to be the leaders of tomorrow. The purpose of the Academy is to provide our community’s youth with a dual opportunity to develop into high-character members of society and, at the same time, learn the skills of baseball and softball. The vision for the Academy is to become the epicenter for youth baseball and softball throughout the Midwest, beginning with the urban community with its location in the backyard of the historical 18th & Vine District.

The Jennie Finch Team is a team of Elite athlete's that will represent the KCUYA.  These are players from the KCMO, KCK, urban, and metro areas that demonstrate the core values of the game. Our goal is to create a team that will compete against other MLB academies and participate in softball tournaments. Athlete's selected for this program will also be required to attend at least one UYA programming event during the week. 

This team will be made up of a pool of 12-16 player between the ages of 13-17.

Players who are a part of the Jennie Finch team will also get the opportunity to be selected to attend Elite Development Invitationals and the Breakthrough Series both hosted by MLB.
