Jabari Walker has been selected as the Kansas City Urban Youth Academy "Youth of the Year". Jabari is a senior at Allen Village Academy and has been a member of the Academy since 2018. He has participated in numerous programs developing both baseball and educational skill improvement and is currently employed as a UYA Facilities Assistant and umpire in the Academy's Sandlot Little League. He has played in the KCMO RBI Program and the KC East Lions, and continues to be an outstanding student athlete.
Outside of the Academy, Jabari is active in his school's culinary club as well as his youth group at St. James United Methodist Church. He is currently undecided on the where he will attend college but will pursue a degree in Sports Management. Jabari joined the rest of the Youth Academy winners in an on-field recognition during Game 4 of the 2021 World Series.
